Connect Claude or Copilot
Set up the connection between Power BI Agent and Claude Desktop or Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Power BI Agent works via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You can connect it to Claude Desktop or Microsoft 365 Copilot to query your Power BI data directly from your preferred tool.
Connect with Claude
Claude supports connectors that allow you to link external tools.
- Go to Settings > Claude in the Power BI Agent portal.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions to configure the connector.
After connecting, you can activate Power BI Agent in a Claude chat via the + menu.
The Claude connector requires a Claude Pro or Max subscription.
Connect with Microsoft 365 Copilot
Power BI Agent can be installed as a declarative agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot. This setup is performed by the organization owner.
- Go to Organization settings > Copilot in the Power BI Agent portal.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions to generate credentials and configure the connector.
After installation, you can use Power BI Agent within Microsoft 365 Copilot by selecting it via the @ menu in a chat.
The Copilot connector requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license within your organization.
