Connect Power BI Agent as a connector in Microsoft 365 Copilot.
By connecting Copilot, you enable the chat mode via Microsoft 365 Copilot. The connector must first be added once for your organization, see Add the Copilot connector. If that has not been done yet, ask your organization owner. See How do you want to chat? for the difference with the other chat modes.
Requirements
- A Microsoft 365 environment with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- The Copilot connector has been added for your organization.
Connect
- Go to the Copilot menu in the Power BI Agent portal. There you see whether the connector has been set up and which connections you have.
- Open Microsoft 365 Copilot and go to Settings > Sources via the gear icon.
- Choose Power BI Agent and click Connect.
- Sign in with your Power BI Agent account and click Allow.
After connecting, you can ask questions about your Power BI data in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat.
Disconnect
Go to the Copilot menu in the portal and click Disconnect next to the connection. Copilot then no longer has access to your Power BI data. To connect again later, repeat steps 2 to 4.
Note: pseudonymization
In this mode, fields set to pseudonymize in Masking are anonymized instead. Pseudonymization is only available in the portal chat mode. See How do you want to chat? for explanation.
Next step
Go to How do you want to chat? for an overview of the three chat modes.
