Today, we introduce Power BI Agent: an AI assistant that helps organizations gain faster and smarter insights from their Power BI data.

Instead of searching through dashboards or manually analyzing reports, users can simply ask questions in natural language. The agent not only provides answers, but also performs in-depth analyses, explains variances, and helps identify trends, risks, and opportunities. This makes Power BI Agent far more powerful than a standard AI chatbot.

Power BI Agent includes built-in skills with validated KPIs, financial metrics, and industry benchmarks. As a result, users receive not just numbers, but also the context needed to make better decisions. Organizations can also create their own skills, ensuring analyses align with company-specific KPIs, processes, and business logic.

To make insights even more accessible, Power BI Agent supports workflows for automated analyses. Think of daily performance checks, weekly management summaries, or proactive notifications through Microsoft Teams and email whenever important exceptions or trends are detected.
